Bee in honeyomb

Did you know that bees communicate between each other through olfaction of pheromones? Pheromones are intra specific chemical signals, affecting the behavior or physiology of others from their specie, with no smell.

The honeybee is a very complex and rich olfactive substance but not only! It also contains lots of pheromones. Interesting to see how these are integrated in bees’ brain. The study was presented by Julie Carcaud, assistant Professor at the University Paris-Saclay, in the EVOLBEE group (Evolution & Behavior department).
