ENNOVA Institute of Life Science and Technology in China has studied “Effects of different music on HEK293T cell growth and mitochondrial functions”.
They demonstrated that different types of music produce different effects on cell growth, cell viability and antioxidant capacity. These results show that music has not only a direct effect on the brain, but also on non-neuronal cells.
This study shows us that underlying biochemical mechanisms of music have an impact on human health without the interference of complex human perceptions and personal musical tastes.
