Chaque année l’ECRO (European Chemoreception Research Organisation) organise un congrès annuel afin de promouvoir la recherche fondamentale et appliquée en science chimiosensorielle, en particulier l’olfaction et le goût chez les vertébrés et les invertébrés.

Cette année cet événement s’est déroulé à Trieste, en Italie et a réuni des chercheurs, médecins et industriels du monde entier ! Un rendez-vous passionnant, avec des intervenants de haut calibre comme le Prix Nobel, le Dr. Linda Buck qui a présenté “Mechanisms underling smell and stress in mammals”.

Différents thèmes ont été abordés tels que :

  • l’olfaction et la mémoire notamment comme alerte dans les maladies neurodégénératives.
  • l’olfaction et l’interaction avec les autres sens, notamment la vision. Des mots ou des images pour décrire une odeur?
  • l’olfaction et ses mécanismes cérébraux, état de l’Art.

ECRO 2019, from 11th to 14th September – Trieste, Italia [EN]

Every year the ECRO (European Chemoreception Research Organisation) organises an annual congress to promote fundamental and applied research in chemical sensory science, in particular olfaction and taste in vertebrates and invertebrates.
This year this event took place in Trieste, Italy and brought together researchers, doctors and industrialists from all over the world! An exciting meeting with high-calibre speakers such as the Nobel Prize winner, Dr. Linda Buck, who presented “Mechanisms underling smell and stress in mammals”.

Different themes were discussed such as:

  • olfaction and memory, particularly as an alert in neurodegenerative diseases.
  • olfaction and interaction with other senses, including vision. Words or pictures to describe a smell?
  • olfaction and its cerebral mechanisms, state of the art.
